Title BaZrO3/Au and BaZrO3/Au-Pd hetero-structures: The characteristics and mechanism for their photocatal

Abstract

BaZrO3/Au composites were synthesized by Incipient Wetness Impregnation (IWI), and Pd was selectively deposited on Au surface in BaZrO3/Au through area selective-atomic layer deposition (AS-ALD). The morphology of BaZrO3, Au, and Au-Pd was determined by SEM and TEM, which confirmed that Pd was successfully deposited on Au surface. The photocatalytic performance of BaZrO3/Au and BaZrO3/Au-Pd was studied by degrading RhB with UV irradiation. It was found that the introduction of Rd on Au surface could increase the photocatalytic performance of BaZrO3/Au composites. The mechanism study showed that increased photocatalytic performance could be attributed to the increased electron/hole separation under irradiation.
